Steve Jobs’ Minimalist Office in 1982

STEVE JOBS AT HOME IN 1982 — “This was a very typical time.

I was single.

All you needed was a cup of tea, a light, and your stereo, you know, and that’s what I had.” —Steve Jobs

Wonder if this was what drove him to keep all of his Apple products simple & clean.

I love it! I never knew this. Ok, I might mix in an IKEA desk and a chair, but hey, you have to love Steve’s belief in himself and his steadfast desire to walk against the trend.

@Charley I definitely vote for a chair and a desk as well. Sitting on the floor hunched over is not my cup of tea :)

Love this! This reminds me of when we had moved and didn’t even have a couch. We used a blanket on the floor. :)

My office is an absolute mess right now: books littered everywhere, at least two notebooks open with notes on 2 or 3 three things I’m reading and working through, and of course the computer is the central feature, with all sorts of tabs open: I’m always working on something while waiting for something.

Would I have it any other way? I’m pretty productive, and can’t say I’m unhappy.

Wow! I admire him more now than ever! We are working toward a minimalistic lifestyle, but we’re no where close to this picture! This photo is beautiful in it’s simplicity!

    Thanks for sharing this!

He's my role model in many ways (although I read he has a short temper and is known to make his employees cry).

I'm sure he has a volatile temper. He seems so calm, but there's a tiger underneath

Still, people who are soft, don't make it to the top like that. He's a fighter, and it comes with the territory. He WAS ousted once…
