THIS YEAR, CHRISTMAS 2010 COSTS $23,429.38

This is really just for laughs, but the Christmas Price Index calculates the cost of everything from that famous Christmas Song – The 12 days of Christmas (YouTube: Straight No Chaser).

  • Partridge in a Pear Tree = $161.99 (Patridge up 20%, Pear Tree the same)
  • 2 Turtle Doves = $100
  • 3 French Hens = $150
  • 4 Calling Birds = $599.96
  • 5 Golden Rings = $649.95
  • 6 Geese A-laying = $150
  • 7 Swans a Swimming = $5600
  • 8 Maids-A-Milking = $58
  • 9 Ladies Dancing = $6294.03
  • 10 Lords A-Leaping = $4766.70
  • 11 Pipers Piping = $2356.20
  • 12 Drummers Drumming = $2552.55

*Generous True Loves have to fork over $96,824 for all 364 gifts, an even more eye-popping 10.8 percent increase compared to last year.
