10 Baby Steps to Minimalism: #5 Use smaller plates

I’m totally guilty of this — eating more than I should.

I like to load up my plate and just go for it. The fuller, the better.

But at the end, sometimes I feel very tired, heavy and sluggish.

I was always taught to finish my plate when I was a kid, but luckily my mom tried to caution me by saying: But if you are full, just cover it with some wrap and save it for later.

I have a better idea. Use smaller plates.

If you bought smaller plates, and ate less food, you wouldn’t feel the need to eat as much.

It would do wonders for your physique (especially if you are loading up on bowl of ice cream) and would save you money in the process because you eat less.

And by eating less, you could use the money saved to buy higher quality food. :)

Nowadays, I am even finding restaurant meals to be too large.

It’s nice to splurge on a meal, but it ends up being my leftovers for the next day or two, just because I have begun to be more conscious about my portions.
