When Was the Last Time You Felt Passionate?

IMG_0060

Last Monday, I went back to the stable for a horse-riding lesson. I have been riding for 20 years! I had to stop for a while because of slight health issues. As soon as I had my doctor’s approval for a soft comeback, I contacted my coach and arranged my return.

After this first ride, I just had one word on my mind: wow! I came back in a total fulfillment state of mind. It was an easy ride, nothing complicated. I have done rides like that thousands of times. However, after this ride, I totally felt passionate again. I remembered how good it felt to be so delighted by something. I came back home and said to my husband that I needed this in my life again.

A Couple Days Later

Since then, I’ve been thinking about when I let passion slip away from me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m fortunate enough to be able to do many things I love. I’m also fortunate enough to be surrounded by people I love. Thinking about it, I am passionate about many things in my life. I just let my daily routine make me forget about it.

Find Things to be Passionate About

I used to be passionately in love with my husband. I’m still much in love, but the passion has faded a little. This is a normal thing when you’re in a relationship for over eight years. Still, I want to think about him in a more passionate way. I want the image of his smile to make me smile in return. You know, the “awww”s you get when you fall in love!

I’m deeply passionate about my kids and their development. I’m fascinated about what goes on in their minds and what they’re up to. I want to keep this passion alive.

I love writing and communicating. It has always been something I needed to do. Since I’ve been able to hold a pencil in my hand, I’ve been trying to write or communicate something! I just want to remember how lucky I am to be able to do so on a daily basis.

Surpassing oneself is something I’m also passionate about. It can be physically, mentally or financially, but stories about people who surpassed themselves always have a huge impact on me. Maybe that is the same feeling I get when I’m physically active. I need to surpass myself in many things to feel complete.

Of course, I’m passionate about horses. I won’t get much into that, however, because it’s just there. It’s difficult to explain.

Focusing on Passions

That is what my horse-riding comeback made me realize. There are small things to be passionate about all around us. I’ve got to focus on them to make my days delightful. To me, passions is directly related to happiness. When you let your passions guide you, there’s a great chance you’ll be happy for the rest of your life!

Let me ask you again: When Was the Last Time You Felt Passionate?
