Minimalist Hotels

Not my cup of tea (am a tad claustrophobic) but I do find it interesting and efficient.

I mean, what do we do in a hotel anyway? We sleep. We watch TV. We eat a bit. I’d prefer to have one big enough to have BF in there with me, but this is a good quick fix.

The Japanese use it for business, or if they have to work early tomorrow and cannot make it back home for that night.

Another use, is if you accidentally missed your train and have to bunk out for the night.

Actually, I would love that. Something about being able to “hideout” and building a fort would be a nice break from those meetings.

@Adam: The idea of a fort did come to mind. I suppose if I was sleeping, I wouldn’t feel claustrophobic, but there’s something about it being so compact that makes me anxious.

Maybe if the ceilings were a BIT higher. By a foot.

Reminds me a little of the cold storage in the morgue! Minus the toe tags!

A little bigger would be good.

I think this is a good idea gone way, way too far. I would feel like I was in a coffin if I was in one of these “pods”. Hotel rooms could surely be a lot smaller without bothering anyone – it’s not like they’re really places to hang out.

But paying to stay in a coffin? None for me, thanks :)

Wow – Part of me thinks of those pullman cars(?) where you could double bunk in trains at night.. but it also reminds me of those refrigerated spaces they pull corpses out of at the morgue…

Not sure if I would like one or not. They would definitely be great for if you needed a cheap place to stay (if the price is as small as the space).

Yeeeeeeeeeeeah, I find this creepy. This is just one step away from sticking us all in vats Matrix style. Those robots are pretty efficient.
