What’s in Rakhee’s Wallet

I use a separate strategy for summer and winter because having a dangling handbag adds too much to the already complex juggling of hat, scarf, gloves and bulky coat in the winter.


Winter Strategy:
Wallet (size=5″x3.5″x1″) in one coat pocket and Keys (3 home, 1 office, 1 car and 1 car remote) and cell phone in the other coat pocket

Summer Strategy:
Only the contents of wallet along with keys and phone all fit into the (size=8″x5″x2″) small purse with the cash in the small black zippered pouch (size=3.5″x2″)

Party Strategy:
Single key + Driver’s license + Cash + 1 Credit Card fit into the small black zippered pouch and in one jeans pocket and cell phone in other jeans pocket
Optional (not pictured):
On a dressy occasion where I might want to do touch-ups I also carry a lipstick, eyeliner and blush with brush which all fit very well in the small purse with room to spare.
Today’s contents of wallet from left to right:
  • 3 credit cards : 1 AMEX, 1 Master Card, 1 Visa
  • 1 debit card
  • 1 grocery rewards card
  • 1 Driver’s license
  • 1 AAA card
  • 1 library card
  • 1 Work ID card
  • 4 Health cards (I wish it was one!)
  • $106 in bills and some change in the zippered pocket
  • 1 small goddess charm that says “Don’t postpone joy”
This little charm is my daily reminder to live consciously and do more things I love instead of buying more stuff.

I’m Rakhee and I write at the7throck.com where I document my quests in food and conscious living.

About two years ago when my husband moved in after our wedding, I was faced with the realization that my life and space was already so full of stuff and commitments that I did not have enough room for him or enough time to enjoy our new life together. (He brought only half a car load of stuff to my nook and corner crammed 750sqft one bedroom apartment).

Since then I’ve been exploring through books and the blogging world the idea of conscious living in pursuit of a simpler, more mindful, more aware and more fulfilling life by re-evaluating everyday decisions. This year at the7throck.com I’m focusing on unbox-ing my life and becoming a minsumer.
