Soap Flakes Dispenser: A brilliant but simple design

I find that people use far too much soap than is required, especially when it’s “free”* like in malls and in offices.

All you need is one small pump of liquid soap, and lathering is not even the soap getting your hands clean. It’s more the friction of you rubbing your hands together, that gets your hands clean.

*We pay for it indirectly for this, don’t you worry

This is why I like this. A lot. You just need a few soap flakes, and if your soap bar is softer, it won’t get all mushy, sticky, wet and gross from being under the water.

Swiss Nathalie Staempfli designed two ingenious soap dispensers that turn a soap bar into beautiful little soap flakes.

One version attaches to the wall and allows you to use it with one hand. The other version is a grater that can stand by itself. It can be placed in the same way as a shower gel or shampoo.

Soap bars are more concentrated than liquid soap which has an ecological benefit: You don’t transport water around the globe and they only use paper for packaging.

The solid blocks can easily be piled and allow a greater space efficiency during transportation.
