Great visual for all of those facts. In the last couple of years, my family has switched to homemade gifts (usually cookies/candy/soaps/etc.), and surprisingly the satisfaction of receiving those gifts is on par with what we used to do. In fact, some cookie recipes are eagerly awaited each year.
Thanks for sharing this chart. Although I’m painfully aware of the obscene waste around the holidays, it’s still startling to see the cold, hard facts. I’m reposting, with a credit to your blog, of course.
