Saturday Project: Minimalist Internet Browser Menu Bar

Today’s Saturday Project will take you maybe 15 minutes, maximum.

We’re going to get your Toolbar menu in your browser to be sleek and .. well, minimalist!

It’s going to look something like this: (Click on the image to make it larger)

And it will only take maybe a second for each of your links.

First, you have to have your links there in the first place.

The website’s icon, also known as the favicon will automatically show up in the Menu Bar.

All you have to do now, is delete the name.

Right-click on the website in the Menu Bar > Click on Properties

Toolbar-Rightclick

Then simply delete the name and Save.

There are some links that won’t have a favicon, but in that case, save the link anyway, and put a shortcut.

Everyday Minimalist can turn into “EM”

And if some icons look very similar, then make a short note after them so you know which one you’re clicking on.

In the example above, I have a direct link to my page, as well as a link to my WordPress website login ID.

Both have the same icon, so I just named the WordPress icon as “WP” to keep it clear.

Alternatively, I could also change the icon in WordPress to the actual WordPress icon, if I wanted to get rid of words altogether, but I enjoy seeing my favicon in the Menu Bar.
