Clutter does not mean you’re a dirty person

It’s a misconception.

I know this, because when someone calls my pile of papers messy (which is the way I like to work), I feel a slight twinge of: “Hey! Watch it…!”

Then I realize that they’re right, and sheepishly admit to it.

Just because someone is messy, and has a cluttered home with lots of papers and things strewn about, doesn’t mean that they’re dirty pigs!

My mom is probably the biggest germaphobe I have ever met. She showers after riding the public transit bus, and changes her socks at least twice a day.

It’s pretty insane how far she’ll go to stay “clean”.

While she is a sanitary freak, she is NOT a neat person.

She has tons of clutter piled up everywhere, pens and pencils strewn about, little scraps of paper… it gives me a headache.

So the next time you see someone messy and unorganized, it doesn’t mean they’re dirty at all….

…and if you see someone super neat and organized, it doesn’t mean they’re clean either.
